Open Loop, 2017
October 7, 2017 - November 4, 2017
Roger's Office, Los Angeles, CA

Open Loop was a solo presentation of a body of work that explores ideas of agency and determinism through the aesthetic and culture of video games and PC building. In the central work, Open Loop, an AI character walks around a scene in a screen for a random amount of time until tragically dying and spawning in the adjacent screen. The character performs this task indefinitely until the work is turned off, going in a loop throughout the monitors and scenes being simulated by the computer.
