Filip Kostic is an artist and educator living in Los Angeles. His work examines the relationship between the self, the uploaded and continually updating digital-self, and the mechanisms of the apparatus which facilitate the upload. Kostic makes work that operates within existing cultural structures - such as information sharing platforms, gaming and simulation, and video - by borrowing and employing their language and means of production.

Filip is an assistant professor for the Interaction Design Department at ArtCenter College of Design where he has been teaching classes in VR/AR and immersive media since 2016.

He holds a BFA from ArtCenter College of Design where he studied Fine Art. Filip has been a fellow at the Arts Research Collective, and Roger’s Office Artist Residency. He has been an experience designer at Wevr, taught at Otis College of Art and Design, technical VFX artist for Ghosting.TV, as well as runs a small immersive media studio.

Kostic’s work has been shown at Projektwohnung Krudebude in Leipzig, NAVEL LA, Elevator Mondays in Los Angeles, Tiger Strikes Asteroid LA, at the Springbreak Art Show in New York, Wind Tunnel Gallery in Pasadena, and Roger’s Office in Los Angeles.
